Frequently Asked Questions

Q1:What do you specialize in?

Anna helps athletes and active people of all ages, levels and disciplines learn how to fuel their bodies for health and performance. She also offers guidance on the nutritional management of a variety of health conditions and on eating for general well-being. The practice prioritizes health and performance outcomes regardless of weight and does not offer weight loss or body composition services.

Q2:What is included in the 2-session package?

A 60 minute initial assessment and a 60 minute follow-up session at a discounted rate ($30 off), for $350 in total. The package is available to self-pay clients only, and individual follow-up sessions can be bought afterward as needed.

Q3:Do you work with clients who live outside of Washington?

Anna is licensed to provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling to people located in Washington, and clients receiving those services or billing insurance must be in Washington at the time of the appointment, including telehealth. The site says services in some other states may be possible depending on licensure laws and the nature of the concern, so people outside Washington are asked to reach out. Group talks and workshops have no licensure limitation.

Q4:What should I expect for our work together?

The first appointment reviews medical history, past and current eating patterns, training and movement, and nutrition goals. Follow-up appointments are collaborative sessions that identify tools and interventions, often including education, personalized recommendations and troubleshooting. All appointments are about 60 minutes, and how often you meet depends on your goals and needs.

Q5:Will we meet virtually or in person?

Both are offered. In-person appointments are at Prime Sports Institute (1704 N State Street) in Bellingham on Wednesdays. Telehealth appointments are available Monday through Thursday by video call on Practice Better, the practice's HIPAA compliant scheduling and records system.

Q6:What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA card and paper check.

Q7:Can I use my insurance?

Cascade Nutrition is in network with Regence, and benefits vary by plan, so the site suggests checking your coverage before the first appointment. For other plans the practice is out of network and can provide a superbill with procedure codes to submit for possible reimbursement, with fees paid in full upfront. Reimbursement is not guaranteed.
