Our Story
Erika Szabo opened Care Connect after relocating from Toronto to the Quinte area in 2020, bringing professional experience and lived experience to her work as a cycle breaker of intergenerational trauma. She is a queer, first-generation adult child of Hungarian immigrants who integrates mindfulness, somatic awareness, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and art-making into a collaborative therapeutic style.
Before opening her private practice, Erika spent over six years supporting survivors of gender-based violence through the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre and worked with dual-diagnosis adults in residential settings. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District (SACQD). Care Connect is governed by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
