Your journey

Arrival in the Long Point Biosphere

The drive south through Norfolk County brings you to the edge of the Turkey Point Marsh and the Carolinian forest — a landscape that is meaningfully different from the Shield Ontario of Muskoka or the Shield Ontario of Haliburton. This is Great Lakes Southern Ontario at its most biodiverse.

Treetop Canopy Adventure

Two and a half hours through the forest canopy: 8 ziplines, suspension bridges, 14 platforms, and a 40-foot rappel with two certified guides who provide ecological context throughout. The views over Turkey Point Marsh from the canopy platforms justify the experience on their own.

JORO sauna and cold plunge

The Nordic-style recovery circuit after a day in the trees: outdoor sauna to full heat, then cold plunge — the thermal contrast that turns adventure fatigue into genuine restoration.

Kayaking the Turkey Point Marsh

Guided kayaking through the Turkey Point Marsh and the Long Point Biosphere wetland system — a paddle through one of the most biologically rich ecosystems in Canada at a pace that allows genuine observation.

Stargazing in the observatory dome

A clear Norfolk County night from the resort's dedicated observatory dome — the Long Point Biosphere's dark skies deliver a night sky experience that is the natural conclusion of a day spent in ecological immersion.

About

About this getaway

Long Point Eco-Adventures is an all-season eco-tourism resort and retreat centre situated within the UNESCO-designated Long Point Biosphere Reserve in Norfolk County, Ontario — minutes from Port Dover and Turkey Point Beach on Lake Erie. Founded by Dave Pond and Mike McArthur, the property began as a 37-acre tobacco farm overlooking the Turkey Point Marsh and has been transformed into one of Southern Ontario's most distinctive sustainable tourism destinations.

The resort's activity programme combines high-adventure outdoor experiences with genuine ecological education: a Treetop Canopy Adventure with 8 ziplines, 2 suspension bridges, 14 platforms, and a 40-foot rappel through the Carolinian forest; stargazing in an observatory dome; guided kayaking and paddleboarding on the Turkey Point Marsh; mountain biking; axe-throwing; and mushroom foraging. The JORO outdoor sauna and cold plunge programme adds a Nordic-style wellness dimension to what is fundamentally an adventure resort, creating a recovery circuit for bodies that have spent the day in the trees.

Accommodations include Wilderness Suites with private washrooms and fire pits, Deluxe and Elite Pods tucked into the forest, Pod Clusters for groups, Camping Pods, the Mabee Marsh Cabin (sleeps 17) with panoramic marsh views, and the Rollercoaster Bunkhouse for mountain biking groups with direct trail access. The Marshview Patio restaurant is open year-round. Every adventure connects guests to the Long Point Biosphere, and the resort partners with local conservation initiatives to protect the ecosystem while making it accessible.

Long Point Eco-Adventures was born from a conviction that the most sustainable way to protect a remarkable ecosystem is to create the conditions for people to fall in love with it. Dave Pond and Mike McArthur transformed a 37-acre tobacco farm overlooking the Turkey Point Marsh into an eco-tourism destination that has become a cornerstone of sustainable tourism in Norfolk County — a place where school groups, corporate teams, and holiday guests all encounter the Long Point Biosphere Reserve in ways that leave them wanting to protect it.
