About
Pine Brae Eco-Resort is a boutique glamping property set on 100 acres of wilderness in the Rideau Lakes region of Ontario, adjacent to Murphys Point Provincial Park and 20 minutes from Heritage Perth. The resort was built on the conviction that true escapism doesn't require sacrificing comfort — each off-grid glamping cabin combines modern design with deep immersion in a working natural landscape.
The property centres on Pine Brae Pond, surrounded by seven acres of Provincially Significant Wetlands that attract diverse wildlife. Forest trails connect the private cabin sites to a shoreline on Long Lake, where guests can dive from a dock into 40-foot-deep water, paddle in one of the provided canoes or kayaks, or simply sit at the water's edge. The resort sits on the Ontario By Bike network and is a certified partner of Destination Ontario.
Owner Blair Copland designed Pine Brae from personal experience: having spent years searching for a nature property that combined genuine seclusion with hotel-quality comforts, he found that such a place simply didn't exist and built it himself. Each cabin is on a private site, screened from neighbours, with kitchenette, ensuite bathroom, screened porch, propane fire pit, and water views over Pine Brae Pond. The result has been featured in the Toronto Sun, Ottawa Road Trips, and The Humm, and listed as one of Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization's five wild getaways.
Blair Copland's vision for Pine Brae grew out of a familiar frustration: the gap between the Ontario wilderness experience people dream of and what they typically find when they search for it. Most nature retreats, he found, were either too developed or too rustic — crowded campgrounds without privacy, or remote cabins without the amenities that allow guests to truly relax.
