Our Story

The journey behind Northern Phoenix Judo Academy began from my personal quest for balance and wellness in an ever-chaotic world. Growing up in Fort McMurray, I found solace in martial arts, but it wasn't until I encountered Tai Chi that everything clicked. I was captivated by its meditative flow and the way it nurtured both body and spirit. I wanted to share this treasure with my community, and so the vision for the academy unfolded. It’s built on a foundation of inclusivity. Every practice, whether it’s a small child learning their first stance or an elderly individual seeking to regain strength, is treated with the same respect and understanding. I believe that in each class, we weave together our stories and experiences, creating a fabric of support. My hope is that every student leaves feeling connected—not just to Tai Chi, but to themselves and to each other. Looking back, I couldn't have imagined the bonds we've formed. We're more than an academy; we're a family.
