About

About this getaway

Hideaway Huts is run by Holly and Andy Kyte at Treworgey Farm near Duloe, Cornwall. Two traditional shepherd's huts sit at opposite sides of the 150-acre family farm, each in its own secluded spot with long views over the Looe River valley. They are comfortable and warm โ€” proper beds, log burners, private bathrooms โ€” but the real luxury is the quiet: no neighbours, no noise, just Cornish countryside.

The Shepherd's Hut (eastern side of the farm) has a wood-fired hot tub and is close enough to use Treworgey Cottages facilities: swimming pool, riding school, and tennis court. The Lambing Hut sits in its own field with an outdoor bath on the deck and a private bathroom a few steps away; the site notes a complete re-fit and availability from July. Both huts sleep 2, with space to pitch a tent for up to 2 children, and one well-behaved dog is welcome.

Holly and Andy also manage bookings for the Watch House, a 19th-century coastguard lookout on the cliffs near Polruan (National Trust coast). It is completely off-grid aside from mains water โ€” no electricity, no phone signal โ€” a 20-minute walk from the car park, sleeping up to 5. Book direct at hideawayhuts.co.uk or email stay@hideawayhuts.co.uk / call 01503 262730 or Holly on 07825 091470.

We're Holly and Andy, and we look after three of the most tucked-away places to stay in Cornwall.

FAQ

Good to know

Where are Hideaway Huts?

The Shepherd's Hut and Lambing Hut are at Treworgey Farm near Duloe, Cornwall, in the Looe valley (about half an hour west of Plymouth). Sat nav can be unreliable โ€” follow the written Treworgey directions sent with booking. The Watch House is on the cliff path between Polruan and Polperro; exact parking notes are sent after booking.

What can I book?

Three stays: The Shepherd's Hut (sleeps 2, wood-fired hot tub), The Lambing Hut (sleeps 2, outdoor bath), and The Watch House (off-grid clifftop cottage sleeping up to 5). Book at hideawayhuts.co.uk or email stay@hideawayhuts.co.uk.

Are the huts dog friendly?

Yes. One well-behaved dog is welcome at The Shepherd's Hut, The Lambing Hut, and The Watch House. Confirm when you book.

Do the huts have private bathrooms?

Yes. Unlike many glamping sites, each farm hut has its own private bathroom hut โ€” about 20 yards from The Shepherd's Hut, and a few steps from The Lambing Hut. The Watch House has a flushing loo and outdoor shower.

Can hut guests use the farm pool and riding school?

Shepherd's Hut and Lambing Hut guests can use Treworgey Cottages facilities including the swimming pool, riding school, and tennis court. That does not apply to the Watch House, which is about 6 miles from the farm.

What is the Watch House like?

A remote 19th-century coastguard lookout near Polruan: no electricity, no phone signal, a 20-minute walk from the car park. Mains water, log burner, gas cooking, and spectacular coastal views. It is not for everyone โ€” Hideaway Huts says that is the point. They manage bookings for the owners.

How do I book?

Book online at hideawayhuts.co.uk, email stay@hideawayhuts.co.uk, call 01503 262730, or WhatsApp Holly on 07825 091470.
