Our Story
Catherine Allen began her career in 1996 as a registered nurse in small hospitals and Arctic outpost clinics across British Columbia and the North. She later trained in Rolfing Structural Integration, Cranial Sacral, and Visceral Manipulation before recognizing that deeply ingrained trauma patterns required a nervous-system approach, leading her to Somatic Experiencing.
Within SE, Catherine incorporates touch work to relieve the emotional impact of physical trauma such as accidents or falls, and to support early childhood experiences where words are not always accessible. She is trained in Kathy Kain and Stephen Terrell's Somatic Resilience and Regulation Touch Skills, and is a Neurosculpting Facilitator. She is IFS-informed and holds Registered Therapeutic Counsellor status (ACCT #2785).
Catherine shares insights from northern community practice alongside her Revelstoke studio work. It is her honour to hold space for clients when shame or overwhelm has made healing feel impossible alone.
