About
Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice (ISTP) is a body-centred, spiritually grounded psychotherapy approach for trauma healing, developed by Ratha Chek, MC, RCC. The clinical home is Body Mind Soul Healing Centre, with in-person rooms in New Westminster and Nanoose Bay, plus telehealth through Jane's Satellite Centre.
Rather than treating symptoms as the whole story, ISTP invites people back into a relationship with the body. Sessions start with mindful breath and gentle body awareness, then use restorative postures, somatic bodywork, sound, ceremony, and processing so the nervous system can settle and held patterns can move. Ratha's public teaching is that the body speaks in sensation, breath, and energy, and that healing is relational, intuitive, and embodied, not only cognitive.
People come for PTSD and anxiety, grief, depression and insomnia, chronic pain, concussion, eating disorders, sexual trauma, pelvic-floor and fibromyalgia-related distress, TMJ, and intergenerational / ancestral work. Care is offered for adults, adolescents, couples and families, and in healing circles. Sessions are in person or online.

Ratha Chek is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and the founder of Integrative Somatic Therapy Practice, the Integrative Somatic Studies Institute, and Body Mind Soul Healing Centre. For more than twenty years she has sat with people whose minds had been in treatment for a long time while the body was still holding the story.
