Our Story

The vision for Lois Hole Hospital for Women was sparked by community leaders in Edmonton who recognized a gap in healthcare tailored specifically for women. They saw firsthand the struggles many women faced and felt compelled to create a space dedicated not just to treatment, but to holistic empowerment. The hospital is named in honor of Lois Hole, a revered figure in Alberta known for her advocacy in women’s health and literacy. From its inception, the hospital has been more than just a healthcare provider; it's become a grassroots movement towards ensuring women have the resources they need. Many of our staff members are local residents who carry the heart of Edmonton with them, fostering a sense of familiarity that lets patients know they’re in good hands.
