Grist Haven Lodge sits on the south shore of Grist Lake, about 200 km northeast of Edmonton (roughly 2.5 hours south of Fort McMurray, or 3 hours north of Lac La Biche). The lake is small and deep -- about 3 miles long and 300 feet in spots -- with lake trout, whitefish, and northern pike. Nearby Jumbo Lake is a short walk for fly-fishing pike.
